The Office of Accountability & Transparency (OAT) at Compassion Center is an extension of the Board of Trustees and the Office of the Board Secretary-Treasurer, ensuring that every program, partnership, and initiative is managed with integrity, responsibility, and measurable impact.
Through rigorous annual evaluations, transparent financial audits, and open channels for critical feedback, the OAT upholds the highest ethical standards, fostering trust and accountability across all operations so that we can gain a greater understanding of what works and what doesn’t so the future generations can do better than ours have.
We share our impact openly, providing regular updates and public access to key program reviews, so that our patients, supporters, and community can see the tangible results of our work. If you’re looking for insights into Compassion Center’s commitment to ethical, effective, and inclusive healthcare, you’re in the right place.
At Compassion Center, our commitment to accountability and transparency is woven into every aspect of our organization, and the OAT works in conjunction with the Compliance Committee to ensure these values are maintained in all that we do.
The Office of Accountability & Transparency (OAT) serves as the guiding force behind our ethical standards, ensuring that our programs, partnerships, and financial operations align with our mission and meet the highest standards of integrity.
At the Compassion Center, we believe that responsible governance is essential for building trust, promoting sustainable growth, and making a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. Therefore, if there is ever any question as to the legitimacy or integrity of a particular program, community stakeholders are encouraged to reach out to the OAT on here.
The Office of Accountability & Transparency (OAT) oversees rigorous evaluation processes that uphold the Compassion Center’s commitment to effective, responsible, and impactful service. Through ongoing reviews and clear communication, we ensure that every initiative is delivered with integrity and that our resources are managed effectively.
Each year, the OAT conducts a comprehensive review of all Compassion Center programs. This evaluation assesses the effectiveness, impact, and efficiency of our services, allowing us to adapt to changing community needs and continuously improve our offerings. In some cases, programs may be paused during this time, and in other cases programs can be shut down altogether, however, in any case, the patients that are currently in the queue will be provided the highest level of care and service. These evaluations ensure that our programs achieve the measurable outcomes and deliver real, positive change, per the policies, intentions and expectations of the Compassion Center Board of Trustees and the OAT in general.
Compassion Center prioritizes financial transparency, performing regular audits to monitor the allocation and use of funds across all programs. Our board is 100% volunteer, and we take pride in paying our employees sustainable living wages so that they can focus on their families and the communities in which they serve. OAT audits provide clear pictures of how our donations or sponsorships are utilized, reinforcing our commitment to ethical management and effective stewardship. We maintain strict compliance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring that every dollar supports our mission to deliver integrative, accessible healthcare. Currently upwards of 90% of every dollar raised goes to program while in every case, no less than 80% of the funds raised translate directly into positive measurable change within the communities we serve.
The OAT ensures that all Compassion Center activities adhere to ethical standards that prioritize patient rights, fairness and respect. This includes upholding patient confidentiality, equitable treatment, and the highest standards of care across each of our services. By establishing clear guidelines and accountability measures, we create an environment where ethical practices are integral to our operations, and patients can rely upon us to provide them an unparalelled service in care.
Transparency is essential to maintaining trust with our patients, partners, and supporters. To that end, the OAT facilitates open communication and provides access to information that allows everyone to see the impact of Compassion Center’s work firsthand. Furthermore, if an issue arises, the OAT is poised to intervene and realign the program so that it is in compliance with policies, intentions and expectations of the Compassion Center’s Board of Trustees.
Compassion Center is committed to sharing the results of our work openly and honestly. Through regular impact reports, we provide updates on program outcomes, patient success stories, and community initiatives. These reports offer insight into the positive changes driven by the Compassion Center and its Center for Incubation & Findings Research (CIFR), demonstrating our dedication to making measurable differences and taking responsibility for our part in leading change.
To further promote transparency, the OAT provides public access to key program reviews, offering an inside look at how each initiative is evaluated and improved. By making these reviews available, upon formal request, we allow stakeholders to understand our approach, follow our progress, and see firsthand the benefits of our work and how it applied to their community. Members of the public are aligned with community liaisons who are informed on the particular project so that real time information and impacts are translated into compassion that you can see.
We welcome feedback from patients, providers, and community members, viewing it as a valuable tool for our growth.
Compassion Center and CIFR provide multiple channels for feedback, allowing individuals to share their experiences and perspectives. This open dialogue helps us identify areas for improvement and ensures that our services reflect the needs of those we serve. We encourage you to click one of the buttons on this page and reach out to the OAT if you would like to know more, or would like more information on how, what, when and where we do what we do.
