While many recognize Compassion Center as the oldest federally-recognized medical cannabis clinic system in the U.S., did you know that we are also a full-service clinic? Offering a wide range of integrative and holistic care, as well as conventional and allopathic healthcare, mental health, patient advocacy and peer-support programs and services, the Compassion Center tailors its programs to meet individuals’ needs when and where the individuals may need them. Our goal: Promoting and optimizing wellness, moving away from disease management.
Among these services, Compassion Center is proud to provide patients with exams, and in some cases, referrals to affordable and accessible functional medicine experts, endocannabinologists, audiologists, prosthetists, and more, because your health is what matters most to us. We know that you could choose anyone for your healthcare and mental health needs, and we thank you for choosing Compassion Center and our National network of providers.
At the Compassion Center, we recognize the vital role that allopathic functional medicine plays in maintaining patients’ overall well-being and their quality of life. We also understand how expensive “health care” can be. That’s why Compassion Center created our Clinical Services, Peer-Support and Sponsorship Programs with accessibility in mind.
Functional Medicine, Addressing The Entire Mind-Body-Spirit Balance
Our functional medicine practitioners focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of health concerns. With a holistic approach that considers lifestyle, diet, genetics, and environmental factors, our functional medicine experts develop personalized treatment plans that prioritize wellness and long-term health over disease management.
Specialty Medical Cannabis Exams, Evaluations and Recommendations
Our providers are experienced in evaluating patients for state-legal medical cannabis programs, and in using cannabis as a therapeutic option for chronic pain, mental health conditions, and other complex health issues. Compassion Center ensures that each patient receives a personalized evaluation, assessing how cannabis and other plant-based options can be integrated safely and effectively into their care.
Audiology and Hearing Device Services
Through a combination of in-person clinics and pop-up events, Compassion Center offers patients referrals to comprehensive audiology evaluations and hearing aid services, in some cases with their existing providers through a unique partnership that allows manufacturers to partner with Compassion Center to expand access in their communities. Our team helps patients select a professional audiologist to fit, and adjust hearing aids when necessary, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of financial background, have access to quality hearing support.
Dental Prosthetics, Orthotics and Prosthetics
Similar to Audiology, Dental Prosthetics, Orthotics and Prosthetics are delivered through a combination of in-person clinics and pop-up events. The Compassion Center offers qualifying patients referrals to comprehensive evaluations and mobility device services, in some cases with their existing providers, through a unique partnership model that encourages manufacturers to partner with the Compassion Center to expand access in their communities. Our team helps patients select a professional prosthetist to fit, and adjust prosthetics when necessary, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of financial background, have access to quality support, dignity and mobility that they deserve.
Telemedicine for Accessible, Ongoing Care
Telemedicine has revolutionized how Compassion Center delivers care, allowing us and our providers to expand across 18 states while staying connected with patients wherever they are, providing continuous support, follow-ups, and care plan adjustments. This approach is especially beneficial for rural or underserved communities that face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare.
Our clinical services are tailored to fit each patient’s needs, combining integrative healthcare options with evidence-based practices. Patients benefit from personalized, whole-person care that addresses physical, mental, and emotional health, all under one coordinated team. Our interprofessional providers collaborate in an almost virtually real-time to assess contraindications, optimize treatment outcomes, and promote sustainable, long-term wellness for every patient.
Beyond clinical care, the Compassion Center offers a wide range of peer support programs. These groups create a sense of community and understanding for individuals facing specific health and life challenges, providing patients emotional support, shared experiences, and collective healing so that nobody has to travel the path to wellness alone.
Coping With Cancer and Categorically Complex Illness
Our Coping With Cancer and Categorically Complex Illness groups are designed to support those facing cancers, categorically complex and terminal illnesses so that patients are empowered with support from those who are walking the same path, sharing stories of what works and what doesn’t to compliment the journey along the way.
PTSD and Trauma Recovery
Our PTSD and trauma recovery groups are designed to support veterans, first responders, and individuals dealing with trauma, triggers and the feedback loops created by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). With a convenient, safe, confidential environment, participants can share their stories, connect with others who understand their experiences, and find ways to cope and heal.
Autism and Neurodiverse Communities
Compassion Center’s peer groups for autism and neurodiverse individuals provide support, resources, and social connection for those who truly get it. These groups help participants and their families understand and navigate neurodiversity, fostering a positive environment for growth, learning, and community so that individuals with these gifts are able to thrive in an everchanging environment.
Long COVID Support
For individuals navigating the lingering effects of long COVID, or suffering from the physical, mental and/or emotional effects and symptoms, our peer groups offer a compassionate space to share experiences, discuss symptoms, and explore holistic care options. By connecting with others who face similar challenges, participants can find strength and resilience in shared recovery.
Mental Health and Chronic Illness Groups
We offer support for individuals managing depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. These groups focus on creating a supportive community where participants can openly discuss their mental health journeys, share coping strategies, and celebrate personal victories.
Support for Caregivers and Families
Caring for a loved one with a health condition can be both rewarding and overwhelming. Our caregiver support groups provide a community for those who support others, offering practical advice, emotional support, and opportunities to connect with people who understand the challenges of caregiving.
Compassion Center’s peer support groups empower individuals by fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and mutual support. By connecting people with similar experiences, these groups provide emotional resilience and practical tools for managing life’s challenges. Each peer group is facilitated by trained professionals or volunteers who understand the specific needs of the group members, ensuring that everyone feels heard, respected, and supported.
Our approach to care at the Compassion Center combines clinical services with peer support groups to create a comprehensive, integrative model that serves the whole person. But we don’t stop there. Compassion Center partners with manufacturers, providers and specialists to raise the standard of care while lowering the barriers to access. By the provision of both clinical care and emotional support, and assistance when and where the patient needs it most, we ensure that each of our patients have access to every resource they need for optimizing their biophysical and mental well-being.
Patients in our clinical programs can be seamlessly referred to peer support groups to enhance their healing journey, while individuals in our peer groups have access to our clinical resources if they need them. And both sides can apply for sponsorship, so the pathway to well-being is there when patients are ready to take the first step. This interconnected approach allows us to address each patient’s needs holistically, with the understanding that physical, mental, and emotional health are deeply connected.
