The CIFR: Community-Based Clinical Cannabis Evaluation & Research Network (CBCCERN) is a specialized research initiative under the Oregon-based Center for Incubation & Findings Research (CIFR). Designed to advance the understanding and efficacy of medical cannabis, CBCCERN operates exclusively through a network of affiliated principal investigators, ensuring that our research is conducted with the highest standards of scientific integrity.
IMPORTANTLY, CBCCERN DOES NOT ENGAGE IN THE CULTIVATION, HANDLING, OR DIRECT ADMINISTRATION OF ANY FORM OF CANNABIS OR HEMP.
By maintaining a clear boundary between data collection and the plant itself, we preserve the impartiality and credibility of our research, ensuring that our findings are free from any potential conflicts of interest or biases that could compromise the value of our work. Through this model, CBCCERN aims to contribute meaningful, evidence-based insights to the medical community, supporting the development of new therapeutic strategies that can improve patient care and expand treatment options.
CBCCERN is dedicated to exploring the therapeutic potential of cannabis in treating a wide range of rare and intractable disorders. We aim to provide scientifically rigorous research that bridges the gap between patient experiences and clinical outcomes, ensuring that the benefits of cannabis are thoroughly understood and leveraged to improve quality of life.
CBCCERN’s mission is to rigorously track and analyze the therapeutic benefits of medical cannabis for conditions that are currently underserved by existing FDA-approved treatments. Our approach is entirely data-driven, focusing solely on the collection, analysis, and evaluation of clinical outcomes from patient-reported data and other objective measures.
At CBCCERN, we operate through a unique, patient-centered model that integrates cutting-edge technology with practical healthcare solutions:
Clinical Research & Trials:
CBCCERN conducts clinical research focused on the efficacy of cannabis and cannabinoids in treating conditions that are often overlooked by mainstream medicine. Our research is driven by data collected from patients who use cannabis to manage their symptoms, with a focus on understanding the real-world impacts of these treatments.
Technology Integration:
Our network utilizes an advanced Electronic Health Record (EHR) system that facilitates seamless data collection and analysis. This system allows us to track patient outcomes and optimize treatment protocols based on real-time data, ensuring that our research is both relevant and impactful.
Collaboration & Community Engagement:
We work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including healthcare providers, researchers, and patients, to ensure that our research is informed by diverse perspectives. CBCCERN also collaborates with Compassion Center, a nationwide public charity clinic system, to extend our reach and impact.
Ethical Oversight:
All CBCCERN research projects are subject to rigorous ethical oversight by our Investigational Review Board (IRB), ensuring that patient safety and research integrity are maintained at all times.
CBCCERN focuses on several key areas of research:
Cannabis Efficacy Studies: We explore the use of cannabis in managing symptoms of chronic and terminal illnesses, particularly in cases where conventional treatments have failed.
Data-Driven Research: Through our EHR system, we collect and analyze data on patient outcomes, helping to refine and improve cannabis-based therapies.
Education & Advocacy: CBCCERN is committed to educating both the public and healthcare professionals about the potential benefits of medical cannabis, advocating for broader access to these therapies.
CBCCERN stands out as a leader in cannabis research due to its patient-centered approach and commitment to scientific excellence. By focusing on conditions that are often neglected by conventional medicine, we are helping to uncover new treatment possibilities that could benefit millions of people worldwide.
Whether you are a patient, provider, researcher, or advocate, CBCCERN offers numerous opportunities to get involved in our groundbreaking work. Together, we can unlock the full potential of medical cannabis and improve lives across the globe.
